Our Happily Ever After

I keep hearing people tell me "life isn't like a fairy tale" and I would just like address this issue right off the bat. Life is absolutely like a fairy tale. It is full of magic, hope, loss, and of course, the most precious "happily ever after".

Ever fairy tale begins with a lone princess/prince who destines for more than she/he currently has. They want more! And in every case, they venture out, or are sent out to find that missing piece of life. Along the way they encounter the terrible heartache, misfortune, an evil villain who tries to keep them from their true destiny. But somehow our hero always steps in to save the lost royalty and helps them to the end. Despite the trials that face the beloved royalty, there is always this sense of hope we feel for them, "come on!" we cheer, "just wait, it get's better in just about 5 minutes!" We know that if they press forward with hope, something great is waiting around the corner.

Sometimes we look at our life and say "I never catch a break" well, no that's not the case at all. God loves you so much, and cares enough about you to allow you this opportunity to move forward on your own journey. What fun would a fairy tale be without conquering the villain? Really those mountains we are climbing are giving us opportunities to stretch ourselves and accomplish our divine destiny.

Villains come, they fight, and usually they're pretty good at it! It wouldn't be much of an accomplishment if it was easy. Satan is real, he is strong, and he is very good at what he does, but when we overcome temptation, and Satan's very real influence the reward is greater.

There is always a happy ending. God is real, he is present, and he cares. There is a light at the end of every tunnel, and we all have a divine purpose. President Uchtdoft tells us, "You are princesses, destined to become queens. Your own wondrous story has already begun. Your “once upon a time” is now."

Find joy right now, these challenges will help you grow, but only if we turn to God and allow him to Change you. Find joy in the journey, happily ever after is right around the corner, "5 more minutes!!!"
